Job Description

Location: Various, QLD, NSW, WA, SA, ACT

Pay: $36.07 – $45.33 p/a, plus salary packaging accessible up to $15,900 p/year, plus 11.5% superannuation.

About the role:

Our 1-on-1 Support Service at Deaf Connect provides the Deaf and hard of hearing community with access to support in Auslan for Daily Activities, Social and Community Participation, allowing participants to learn and develop the skills and confidence to live independent lives. 

Do you want to make a difference as a NDIS Support Worker? You can empower people who are deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing to live the life they want and achieve their goals, from the everyday to the extraordinary.

Work with people to support: 

  • Health and wellbeing 
  • Social connection and activities 
  • Domestic duties 
  • Financial literacy  

To succeed in the role, you will have:

  • Auslan skills essential (at a minimum you can fingerspell and are willing to learn more)
  • Experience working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing people (desirable) 
  • Certificate III in Community Services (Disability/Aged Care/Community Services) or another relevant qualification, or you have plans to get this in the future. 

Before you start, you will need:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Card 
  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation course 
  • Current Driver’s License
