Job Description

About the role:

As a Staff Interpreter, you will provide high-quality Auslan interpreting services through online bookings, supporting access and inclusion for Deaf, Deafblind and hard of hearing Australians.

Main responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Delivering professional Auslan interpreting services via VRI
  • Working collaboratively with the Customer Bookings Team to meet service needs
  • Maintaining accurate records, timesheets and required administration
  • Adhering to the ASLIA Code of Ethics and Deaf Connect's Code of Conduct
  • Adapting to changing schedules and booking requirements

About you:

  • NAATI Certification
  • Remuneration being based on experience and qualifications
  • Experience across a range of interpreting settings
  • Strong knowledge of the ASLIA Code of Ethics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A private and professional home workspace suitable for VRI
  • Reliable internet connectivity and confidence using Microsoft Teams and Outlook
  • A positive attitude aligned with Deaf Connect's values of Heart, Courage and Discovery
