We’re offering a full-time, flexible opportunity based in any of our offices — Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth. Our hybrid model supports balance, with core in-office days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
About the role:
The People & Culture team are a diverse group that enjoy the role we play in making Deaf Connect a great place to work. As part of this team, you will support the business with recruitment, onboarding and contracts, and general HR queries. You will be the first point of call for general HR queries and will be actively involved in innovation and change projects.

Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Support end-to-end recruitment (job ads, scheduling interviews, candidate coordination)
- Prepare contracts, letters and HR documents across the employee lifecycle
- Maintain accurate employee records in our HR system (Elmo)
- Keep compliance up to date (screenings, licences, certifications)
- Respond to HR queries from employees and managers
- Generate reports and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes
- Contribute to People & Culture projects and process improvements
- Work collaboratively across a Deaf and hearing work environment
About you:
In your application, let us know if you have these key skills and experience:
- Current or previous experience within a human resources environment in an administrative role
- Demonstrated experience communicating in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is highly regarded
- Experience in process documentation and process improvement
- Good organisational and time management skills, ability to plan and prioritise your workload
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate information channels within the team and other business areas
You should also let us know if you have these other great skills:
- Experience with ELMO, Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint and Excel
- Understanding of the Deaf Community or not for profit sector
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources and/or Business Administration
- Current or recent Auslan skills, or the willingness to learn
