As a Customer Bookings Officer with our Interpreting Services team, you will play a vital role in connecting Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people with professional interpreters. Your work will help ensure clear communication, accessibility, and inclusion for our community.

This is a fast-paced, people-focused role where strong organisation, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to outstanding service are essential.

We’re offering a full-time, flexible opportunity based in our Brisbane office. Our hybrid model supports balance, with core in-office days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

About the role:

In this role, you’ll play an important part in connecting Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing customers with the interpreters they need. Your focus will be coordinating interpreter bookings while delivering friendly, professional, and reliable customer service.

Every day will be fast-paced and varied as you respond to enquiries, manage bookings, and ensure customer needs are met with care and efficiency. Working within established processes, you’ll help ensure bookings are accurate, timely, and aligned with service KPIs – all while contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Responding to phone, email, and online booking requests
  • Allocating interpreting jobs using the electronic booking system
  • Liaising with customers to arrange suitable appointment times
  • Managing customer feedback and enquiries in line with procedures
  • Completing daily administrative tasks
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the service

About you:

  • Demonstrated highly developed administrative, organisational and time management skills
  • Highly developed engagement and communication skills which demonstrate an ability to liaise with staff and customers
  • Proven ability to meet targets and deadlines and juggle competing priorities
  • Ability to develop and enhance partnerships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Positive and flexible attitude.

You should also let us know if you have these other great skills: 

  • Knowledge of the Deaf community, language and culture
  • Experience or knowledge in the organisation and the interpreting industry
  • Auslan skills
